I loaded your page up to post this entry and it occurred to me that the cute photo that serves as the header barely resembles you anymore. You have grown so, so much. It is hard to believe that you will be 4 years old next year (Yes, a real four years old, since it will be the first Feb 29th since Feb 29th 2012.
As you might imagine, it has been sort of a rough year for the whole family. The evening of June 3rd, a flash flood struck the house in Manville and flooded about 36 inches on the first floor. Our car (your car) was completely submerged in water and everything on the 1st floor was, more or less, destroyed. I was upstairs listening to music and the emergency alert broke through the "do not disturb" on my iPhone to alarm a flash flood warning. I went downstairs and, in a very short time, water started invading the front porch and then coming up in the northeast corner of your room. I grabbed you and headed upstairs with you (you were sound asleep) where your mom, sister, and all the pets had already been relocated while I was coming down to get you. I heard something that sounded like a boat knocking into a moor and looked on the baby monitor to find your brand new "Cars" (one of your favorite shows!) bed floating around in your room. Scary stuff, right? Well, you were still half asleep for a few minutes and we watched out the window as the car was lifted up with car alarm activated and floated off to the east a bit. Your mom and I heard you say "what's wrong, car?" in a very concerned voice and we tried to comfort you. It was heartbreaking and you still ask about the "red car" sometimes. I keep saying if I won the lottery, I would buy an exact replica for you so you could have your car back. It was a 2010 Pontiac G6, 2.4L 4 cylinder flex fuel, 6 speed automatic with overdrive & shift control and a rear spoiler and onstar for the record! It was the car both you and your sister came home in. As your mom says, "that was his car". You got upset even when I tried to air up the tires! So, sorry about that!
Moving onward from the scariness of the "big flood of 2015" which I have no doubt you will have your fill of hearing about as you get older, let's talk about some other things that have happened this year. Shortly after our house in Manville ("the blue house", you call it, or "my house") was flooded, we moved in with "grandma Pam". Pam is your Aunt Jamee's mom. She was nice enough to let us move in to her basement after the you-know-what and as of this writing we are still here. It is really not so bad and it is small but cozy. You even have your own little room, which helps! Repairs on the blue house are ongoing and we are getting to the point where it looks like it will be ready to move in soon!
Favorite books right now seem to be the "Pete the Cat" series as well as "Dragons Love Tacos!" We really enjoy reading them to you. We also enjoy when you read to us! On Friday night we took your sister and you trick or treating. You were Robin from Teen Titans GO and your sister was a cute little owl. Teen Titans GO is one of your favorite shows right now, and we love it too. :) You were very excited to dress up as "our leader!" and go Trick or Treating!
Pre School has been going well, it seems. You were able to start going, sometime in August I think, and you really seem to have enjoyed it. We were out there waiting for the bus this morning and you were pouring me "tea" with one of Grandma Pam's rope lights. I then poured you some, and the bus started to come down the road. When the bus arrived, you sprayed it with tea! You should be home in about an hour or so. I am running out of steam here, so I will part with I LOVE YOU!
