For Halloween you were a Dinosaur. (Dine-saw... grrrrr!) You were a "cutie-saurus" according tot he costume packaging and you looked adorable - you will have to see the pictures! You were a little nervous trick-or-treating at first (you were the year before as well I believe) but then you took right to it like a fish to water. That seems to be your personality - you are hesitant at first but then engage with the situation / person like a natural. Keep this in mind as you grow!
Then came November and December. Oh, what a busy December! I was trying to take the pre-lit lights off the Christmas tree because they were one of those "one light goes out and the whole thing breaks" strands that I could have swore they stopped making int he 1970's. Evidently not. So I had the tree laying on the floor and was cutting this pre-lit stand off the tree since it was atomically merged or something. You were sitting there watching me. Well, the top piece apparently bent in the process somehow and I tried to bend it back and the "post" part that slides the middle section broke off and you let out this heartbreaking "noo!" I told your mommy it about ripped my heart out and she was just like "That's his tree! <3". So I told you we were going to go get a new Christmas tree right then and there. We went all the way to town and looked in both True Value and Family Dollar and didn't find anything near as nice as our tree. So we came back home and I (sort of) fixed OUR tree. I will have to implement a more permanent fix later on but for now it worked and it looked beautiful for Christmas! I am glad we decided to save OUR tree, since you have had it since you were born and your first Christmas. I will try to hold onto it for many years to come for you/us!
December 12th came and went, and your baby sister decided to stay put in your mommy's tummy. We made it all the way to December 17th when they decided to induce. And on that day of 12/17/2015 at 2:48 PM your baby sister Alexiel Lorraine Gray was born! You were playing trains while we were at the hospital making sure she was all set to come home. It was fun to be at the same place you were born in to have her because we got to look around and see the room you were in and remember the time you were born as well!
A few days later we brought Alexiel home. We were a bit worried how you would react because you are very mommy and I oriented and just a mite rambunctious. You were very sweet! You held her in your arms and even gave a little kiss on her forehead. Since then, you have been nothing but the sweetest older brother to her and are always tending to her. You will set her swing to two bars for swing motion and then say "that's quite enough!" and give her her pacifier when she cries. You like to lay with her on her play mat and if Leo tries to come over to it you will chase him away and say "NO! 'lexiel's!" Perfect as always!
Her blog is started and ready to go and I will probably make the first post today or tonight. You can find it here: http://lettersforalexiel.blogspot.com/ Can you believe that she is a month old already!
You are currently in the living room watching Chugginton and eating a "bagel". It's actually an English muffin. I was eating Jalapeno bagels and you started asking for one. We didn't think a Jalapeno bagel would be very good for you so we just told you it was a bagel :P. Alexiel is asleep in her swing. Aside from her (and hopefully she won't get sick - she's too young and small yet!) we are ALL sick. You were sick last November and now you are sick again. Evidently all the kids at daycare (which you enjoy very much along with all your friends!) have the same thing. Over the past few days you have just been miserable but at least this morning you don't have a fever. We bought you a Vick's vapo-rub room thing that you plug in and it supposedly makes it easier to breathe. I also put some of the regular stuff on your chest and it seems to help. Along with kid's Tylenol and some natural cough-syrup stuff for kids we are doing the best we can! Hopefully you are just about over it!
I love you, and I want to write more but taking care of you and your mom and your sister is my priority right now so I shall go do that! Mommy needs a shower and she is starting to get a bit grumpy like a certain character on Peppa Pig (even though she hasn't said anything I just know her well!) She would probably even say "I am NOT grumpy!" :p
Love you!
