September Review

Happy October!  The leaves are brown and golden, and the air is starting to get a chill in it.  That's okay though, because your Aunt Cherokee and I brought your ENTIRE playset inside for you to have fun with during the winter months!

You are starting to say a lot of new words, and I've counted three, that's right, THREE syllables so far.  As in Ba-nan-a and Kit-an-a (our kitty).  I'm so proud!

You are a VERY active little boy.  As a matter of fact, as I write this, you just tried to pull my hot coffee off this desk and I had to move it.  Now you are sort of screeching at me because you didn't like that.  :)

Which leads me to the sad part.  On September 8th, you were climbing on your chair that we feed you in, fell and hurt yourself :(  You knocked one of your lower lateral incisors out, and the central lower incisor next to it was jutting out to the point it would just need to be pulled.  I rushed you to the Douglas hospital (as he put it when I was driving "you've got me praying in 7 different languages), and I got you there within the hour of your injury.  You wouldn't sit still for the CT scan that we had done to make sure you were okay as you bonked your head just a little bit (I don't blame you for being grumpy) so they gave you a sedative in the form of a nasal spray.  You immediately started grinning and flirting with the young nurse, saying "HI" and smiling at her.  She even commented "he's so cute, I bet he's a little flirt when he's not feeling bad!"

Well, long story short, they pulled the other tooth while you were under.  I then took you to the dentist in Cheyenne the next day and then your Pediatrician Dr. Schultz in Wheatland the following day.  Which, I was sad to hear, she will be moving to Colorado Springs.  She is a good doctor and has been attending to you since you were in your mom's tummy.

At any rate, it looks like you are okay (aside from missing two baby teeth).  Hopefully your grown up teeth will come in just fine.  The dentist and I will keep watch and make sure whatever needs done gets done, if anything.

What else can I talk about?  You are growing like a weed!  I can't get you to sit still for an accurate heigh measurement (neither could the doctor's office staff, lol) but I don't need to in order to know you are bigger than you were five minutes ago!

Coming up shortly we will need to get you your last Vaccination (the second of the two Hep-A shots) and a flu shot, which your mom and I need to get as well.

Soon we will be Trick or Treating again!  This is your second Halloween, are you excited?  Last year you were a lion, what will you be this year?  We are thinking dragon.  Does that sound fun to you?

I love you son, don't ever forget that!
