Hi buddy!
You are growing so fast. This February you will be seven years old. I was telling your mom last night I think that when I saw you the first time it was "love at first sight". The doctors held you up and I was overjoyed. That was almost seven years ago.
So much happened in 2018. Your top two front teeth are wiggly, and one of your bottom teeth is coming in to fill the gap. I am trying to keep you in good brushing habit as it comes in!
You really seem to enjoy first grade and seem to like your teacher(s) Mrs. Bruegger and Snednik (sp?). I was happy to be able to go with you to the corn maze and pumpkin patch last October. You got a Nintendo L.A.B.O. vehicle kit from Santa and your mother and I are impressed with the ease you put it together with. I think you have the makings of an Engineer. You seem to really enjoy it as well as Zelda so I am glad. One of my favorite things to do is watch you play Breath of the Wild.
I keep wanting to take you to the gun range and do other spring/summertime stuff with you like play catch, baseball, etc. I have never been hunting but I have been fishing many times, perhaps one day we can do that too. The trouble is the only source of water around here that actually has fish is on private land I think, and I don't really know the guy.
You seem to enjoy all the classic cartoons I grew up with like "Super Mario Bros. 3". You got a disc with the entire show on it from your Mom's friend Miranda this Christmas and you were watching it with breakfast this morning. You guys also seem to really like the new She-Ra (I think it's a pretty good show, too).
You are very strong-willed and sometimes I have to discipline you for talking back and not listening, which I don't enjoy. I hope all the effort makes you into a good man one day. Don't get me wrong, it is my pleasure to be your father including the hard work, I would just rather be having a good time with you. Don't ever lost that fighting spirit, though! Part of the hard work of being a parent is keeping you in line without breaking that fierce independent streak and confidence. Doing the best I can!
Well buddy I love you very much and am always very proud of you. If I can think of anything else I will come back and make another entry!
